Criteria of quality and continuity
Quality and efficiency are the first and essential criteria that GERES has set for its projects. Development of resources and installations are planned on the long term with appropriate, safe and sustainable solutions for each country's own economic situation.
Knowledge of the local context
All these projects are studied before they are implemented (site studies, opportunity studies, social acceptance studies...). These studies sometimes take many years.
A professional approach
Professionals in energy and the environment (engineers, technicians...) work in the field in the countries concerned. They supervise the teams and help the people to become autonomous. Since its creation 30 years ago, GERES has implemented projects in more than 20 countries. Its experience and professionalism are recognized by its financial and technical partners who have worked together with them all these years.
Recognized financial partners
The projects are supported by public sponsors as part of development aid (Ministries, European Union, ADEME, Agency Française de Développement, Collectorates...), companies, foundations and individuals.
Respect for local partners and beneficiaries
All the projects are planned with due respect for any social and environmental regulations already in force. Good knowledge of the local culture and customs is an indispensable condition for the success of a sustainable project; respecting man and his environment.
A collective and committed approach
GERES is an active member of several community associations, proof of our commitment and professionalism. Among them: Coordination-Sud, especially within the Climate-Development Commission, Comité Français pour la Solidarité Internationale (CFSI), Comité de Liaison Energies Renouvelables (CLER), Comité Français pour l'Environnement et le Développement Durable (COMITE 21), Collectif pour le Développement de la Coopération Décentralisée en Méditerranée (MEDCOOP)...
